Halifax Rack and Screw Cutting Co Limited was Established in 1953, HRS has become one of Europe’s largest specialist manufacturers and suppliers of gear racks, pinions, trapezoidal power screws, jackscrews, Acme feed screws and nuts, together with a full CNC machining facility. Initially founded to serve the precision machine tool industry, more recent diversification into many other industrial sectors has seen continuous growth with exports worldwide now achieving over 50% of turn over. With an ongoing strategy of capital investment, including a recent investment of almost $4M on new machinery, IT and training. HRS employs over 30 people in a 30,000 square foot, purpose built manufacturing facility in Brighouse, West Yorkshire, UK. HRS has a loyal, highly skilled and experienced workforce dedicated to the production of quality precision-machined products and has a continuous improvement programme to ensure the supply of cost-effective, high quality components. HRS carries an extensive stock of raw materials that facilitates quick production of many parts and shorter lead times, which support many Kanban parts scheduling contracts. HRS is a world-renowned manufacturer of gear rack, pinions, leadscrews and nuts, produced to exacting standards with the highest quality controls using leading edge manufacturing techniques. All parts are manufactured under a total quality regime and subject to final inspection before dispatch. All products are manufactured to customer’s drawings. The production facility is dedicated to precision manufacturing and has benefited from considerable ongoing investment with an extensive range of modern CNC machines specifically designed for precision rack and screw manufacture. An extensive range of ancillary turning and grinding equipment is in place for parts finishing. The installed machine base and the highly skilled work force gives HRS the capability to produce complete assemblies for customers offering a one-stop shop.
