How Do You Use an Auto CPAP Machine?

Auto CPAP Machine (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) is used for providing therapy to patients suffering from obstructive sleep apnea. It has a motorized fan that quietly draws air from the room, gently pressurizes it, then delivers it at a setting specific to your needs. The machine is known for its ability to automatically adjust the amount of pressure delivered on a breath by breath basis.

A filter is present at the air intake section of a Sleep Apnea Machine to eliminate the intake of smoke, dust, or other impurities in the air. The filters can be replaced as per the requirement.

There are many prominent providers of CPAP Machine in Delhi which with the help of professionals, deliver the best CPAP machines that help people diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) to breathe more regularly at night and with less snoring. • A tube that connects the mask to the CPAP machine's motor.

  • A motor that blows air into the tube.

  • Humidifier that adds moisture to the air.

How to use a Sleep Apnea Machine?

The Sleep Apnea Machine or CPAP machine improves the quality of your sleep and helps you get rid of the symptoms of sleep apnea. To ensure that the machine functions accurately, its components needs to be assembled correctly. Below mentioned are the components which require accurate set up to get an optimum utilization of the machine:

  1. Filters:There are three types of filters which can be used with a Sleep Apnea Machine, which are disposable paper filter, foam filter and bacteria filter. The disposable paper filter should be placed inside the machine, the foam filter on the outside and the bacteria filter at the air outtake of your humidifier (if you are using a humidifier) or can be directly placed at the air outtake of your CPAP machine.

  2. Hose and Mask: It is easy to attach the hose with a mask. The hose has a 22 mm connection cuff which is compatible with all CPAP masks.

  3. Mask: Choose a mask having proper size and shape to get a perfect fitting. Before sleeping, put on the mask and pull the straps evenly on both sides until you are comfortable. Check for leaks and make adjustments accordingly.

  4. CPAP Pressure Settings:  The pressure settings should be set as prescribed by the doctor. This will help you to get a more effective treatment.

  5. Humidifier: Fill the water chamber of the humidifier with distilled water only as the same will be used for adding moisture to the pressurized air.

After assembling the components, keep the machine on a stable surface near the bed and plug to a nearby outlet to start the CPAP therapy. The machine should be kept a little away (at least 12 inches) from the walls, bedding or curtains to ensure proper venting.

Before starting the CPAP therapy, wash your face properly, position your mask and then turn on the sleep apnea machine. The pressure will start to increase, so try to relax and keep breathing evenly. Once the ideal pressure is achieved, it may make falling asleep easier. It is very important to clean the sleep apnea machine by disassembling each component that will help you use the machine every night for as long as possible.

The Auto CPAP Machine provides effective treatment and reduces the risk of various diseases like hypertension, heart disease, stroke, and insulin resistance. It is easy to use and maintain due to which is highly prescribed by the medical experts.
